There are several chocolatiers in the city of roses who are either creating chocolate treats with ethically sourced cacao or sourcing the best chocolates candies from around the world. Whether you're craving a rich, velvety truffle or a decadent chocolate bar, there’s a chocolate shop for you that has something to satisfy every vegan sweet tooth. Here’s some of the best.

Azar Indulgences

Located in the Heathman Hotel in downton Portland, this vegan friendly, specialty chocolate shop has chocolate from around the world. Everywhere from Europe, the Middle East, and of course local Portland Brands such as Oregon Bark. They have many vegan chocolates and even vegan candies that make the perfect gift. Enjoy a nice hot drink while you shop as they have a coffee bar inside. You can even go around the corner into the Heathman’s beautiful library where there is a cozy fireplace for you to enjoy your just purchased chocolate and drink.

Roste Chocolate House

Roste Chocolate House has vegan options such as their drinking chocolate and pastries as well as chocolate bars and chocolate candies.

A vegan friendly chocolate house located in the Pearl District where you can order a vegan drinking chocolate if you ask for oat milk but also, several chocolate bars and chocolate candies where most are naturally vegan and are single-origin cacao.

Oregon Bark’s famous Tom Bumble bars

Famous for their Tom Bumble chocolate bars, which I like to describe as a Butterfinger but better! This candy shop makes chocolate-covered candy like no other and it’s all vegan and gluten-free! Other favorites are their Bob Dandy which is a chocolate-covered honeycomb and Lou Whistle, a molasses and pecan chewy chocolate that is incredibly satisfying. You can order online for their candy to be delivered, pick up your online order in-store or find them at one of many retailers.

Missionary Chocolates

Missionary Chocolates is known for their signature truffles in a variety of flavors

Dairy-free and gluten-free truffles that was started by a doctor. Owner, Melissa Berry made her first chocolates as a gift for her mom and now, you’ll find these chocolates all over the city in markets and retailers. They offer many different flavors from sweet raspberry and pinot noir truffles to ghost chili salted caramel and meyer lemon truffles.
