Backyard Bliss PDX

Backyard with jacuzzi, sauna, tub, fire pit, and garden

You get this beautiful backyard all to yourself!

This woman-owned spot came from the idea of converting a backyard into an oasis. Located in N Portland, you walk up the driveway and open the backyard gate and you’re transported into a place that is quiet and serene.

The basic rental at $50 an hour includes a 5-person jacuzzi, but other add-ons include:

  • Cedar Sauna: Built by owner Rebecca’s 76 year-old dad. It seats 7 and has essential oils that you can add. (+$50) an hour

  • Cool Plunge & Hot Bath (+$10 an hour)

  • Hand-Built Propane Fire Pit (+10 an hour)

Plus, you get this backyard all to yourself, which in my opinion is the best part! A great spot to enjoy during the day, but also great to come in the evening and relax.

The Conservatory at Cascada Thermal Springs

During the day, the Conservatory is naturally lit.

Cascada is the latest hotel and spa in Portland. The thermal springs spa is a two-story experience. It has beautiful locker rooms to store your things and once you exit, you first walk into the conservatory.

The Conservatory is an 82-degree year round area that features rare plants from around the world. It has day beds and a pool. There’s also large windows that welcome in natural light during the day. It is a great spot to relax and read.

Walk down the ramp and you enter the Sanctuary. This area is very dimly lit and is meant to be silent. You get to enjoy 3 different mineral pools of different temperatures. There’s also a sauna, steam room and ice bath. You’ll also find a water station so you can stay hydrated throughout your experience.

For $100, you get to enjoy both area for 3 hours! In my opinion, it is a great deal and a great experience.

Yacht Tubs

3 people in a Yacht Tub

Yacht Tubs allows you to soak in a hot tub while on your own yacht.

How does being in a hot tub on a boat floating down the Willamette River sound? With Yacht Tubs, they make that experience possible.

You are welcomed in their boat house that’s located in the marina. There they have changing rooms as well as lockers. They provide towels for rent. You even get to choose with bath salts you’d like to be added to your yacht tub.

Once you’re ready, you’re taken to the dock where you’ll learn how to maneuver your boat. One person in your group will be the designated captain who will be driving the yacht. Keep in mind that the boat goes no more than 5 miles per hour and it’s a simple, easy-to-use joystick that is used to drive the boat. No boating license required.

There is a storage area for you to place your belongings that you want to keep dry. You can bring food and drinks (including alcohol) onto the boat, but the captain cannot consume alcohol.

You can connect your phone or device to their bluetooth speakers so you can enjoy some tunes as you float along the river.

Each yacht fits up to 6 people and is available to rent year-round. This is so much fun to do with friends or even do for a special celebration!
